Trunk Redo

So I went a little spray paint happy this past week.
Maybe because I realized how cheap it is?
How fast?
Who knows but I have been wanting to do something with this trunk I found at DI for $3...yes $3.
I got this almost a year ago back in Vegas...
Can you imagine me with 2 kids in their tiny carts, me huge and pregnant, balancing this huge thing to the front?
Yes, comical really.
Sadly, this is the only "before" pic.  I swear I took a normal one but i can't find it.

And here's the after:

I just used some Ballerina Pink from Krylon.  Then I distressed it.
I'll be honest that I was nervous of the outcome.
But I Love it!
Now i'm thinking, just thinking, of adding some vinyl or something on it...what do you think?
Leave it be or put some vinyl? (i'm thinking like a branch with a bird or something like that...)

PROJECT: craft.

I just have to share.
Any of you live in the Tri-Cities Area?
I do!
And when I found out this will be happening, I was VERY EXCITED.
You can imagine moving to a new area, you don't get out much.
I don't quite have new friends to get together.
I am starting to get symptoms of cabin fever.

More info can be found on Dandee Designs and Run Lucas Run.
But come Sept. 25th, it will all disappear!!
If you are coming, super.
See you there.

If not...
don't be jealous.

Chair Before & After!

With all the major projects I have lined up, I needed something small to finish to give me some motivation that I can do them!
I found this little guy at Value Village.
I'm new here and this was my first time in the store.
But it was all familiar :)
I got this for $6!
This legs were so wobbly and look at that paint job.
But I knew the potential.
So I took it home, sanded it down a bit, tightened the legs and gave it some good old spray paint, Ocean Breeze color.
Then I distressed it with some sand paper.

Taa-Daaa!
It's not going to stay out on the porch...but it does look nice there too.
I just needed it air out a bit.
After everything, this little guy only cost me $15.  not bad!
I have the perfect place for it inside by the entry/coat closet :)

Skirts

My little girl loves to wear skirts, so I decided that I would try and make her some! I've never really made a skirt or anything like it so I needed an easy tutorial. I looked around and this is what I found, they are super cute and easy to make. They are called "The Market Skirt". The first one I made, I made it exactly how they said to do it but without the pockets. Then I decided to use some leftover fabric from another project and I made her another one with the pockets... I think they look super cute! After I had made those two skirts I figured I could do a really nice one for her birthday. The 3rd one I made I changed it up quite a bit, I used french seams so there's no edges showing and it really makes it look really nice. Then instead of doing a bottom ruffle I just made a thick trim around the skirt. I had some extra fabric and I made a cute ruffled tank top with it. Anyways you guys should try this tutorial out!

Painting dilemma

I have a struggle going on in my head right now.
What color I should paint the dresser?
Remember this that I snagged last week?
Well, I am having a hard time figuring the ideal color for it.
This will be the new TV stand.
I'm converting the top row of drawers into a shelf.
Now, I would love to go out of my confort zone and do something bold, like blue/turquoise.
but then I get nervous that I won't be able to pull it off..
So so far, my options are
gray-blue
aqua blue
gray
antique white

So what do you think?
I'll be distressing it and glazing it.
Can you help me figure this one out?
vote on the side please!
If you have any other colors you think would look awesome, let me know!

Productive Weekend

I have found another addiction. Estate and Garage sales. I wish I would have caught on to this back in Vegas because it seemed there would be a huge estate sale every weekend from all the foreclosures. But oh well, I still have been able to get some good finds.
Even Craigslist has been good to me.
Look what I found this past weekend:
Awesome vintage frame for $3

Oh this dresser...I love it. I got this on CL for $30. I love the design and lines. I am going to paint it but not sure what. This will be for my new TV stand....what do you think? I was thinking gray or white....Please let me know what you think. I am probably going to leave the top wood and stain it for some contrast...what do you think?

This was a CL find as well for $10...yes, $10! I was so excited when I found it. I have plans for this...which includes painting it...i'm thinkiing white with some fun beads or crystals.

This adorable mirrow was $7 at the local thrift store. I think this would look darling in the girls room.

These babies were $1 each, so it came to $3 total. 2 of them were hindged with another one so i got 5 total...I am using these as my new headboard!
Look at these vintage knobs!! I got 3 of them from the shutters...oh I love it.
So I have a lot of projects on my hand. I hope I can get going on them fast.
Yet today, I feel like I have been hit by a car. I think I have a slight case of Mastitis so I have had a chronic headache too...
oh the joys of motherhood :)
But on a serious note, I would love your imput on what colors I should paint these babies!

I am in love...

I just found a new site today and I seriously love it.

It's called

They do what I would love to do.
They find unique pieces of furniture, fix them up and paint them, leaving beautiful items for you home!

Just look at these:

Absolutely fabulous, no?
Well, i think I found my calling.
